CGJBSL Baseball Player Equipment Overview – 2024

Participants at all levels should have their own equipment including:

• Baseball Bat
• Baseball Glove
• Helmet
• Cleats/Turf Shoes - no metal spikes permitted at any level of rec
• Heart Guard - optional but highly recommended
• Athletic cups (for males) are mandatory for catchers and highly recommended for all participants
  

Baseball bats must adhere to the following standards:

Tee Ball (Kindergarten)

• All bats must be 26" or shorter, have the USA stamp and accompanying text that reads Approved for Tee Ball

Pee Wee (1st and 2nd Grade)

• All bats must have the USA stamp and a barrel not greater than 2 5/8"

Minors (3rd and 4th Grade)

• All bats must have the USA stamp and a barrel not greater than 2 5/8"

Majors (5th and 6th Grade)

• Bats must have the USA stamp and a barrel not greater than 2 5/8"
• -3 BBCOR will also be permitted (no USA stamp is required for BBCOR)

Intermediates (7th and 8th Grade)

• 7th Graders can use a -5 USA Stamped Bat or -3 BBCOR
• 8th Graders must use a -3 BBCOR
  

1-piece solid wood bats are allowed at all levels. No USA stamp is required for wood bats.

USSSA bats are not permitted at any level.
